The World’s First Pickleball Paddle with A Replaceable Surface Is Ready to Raise the Bar of the Pickleball Industry.
Santa Monica, CA, USA | August 05, 2024 –[Press Release Wire]– In a bold engineering move, Reload Pickleball designed a piece of sports equipment that defies the meaning of the word “paddle” itself. Until now, players have had to replace their whole paddle after signs of noticeable wear. According to new research, a Pickleball paddle surface degrades up to 50% within 30 days of consecutive play: a dedicated player would have to buy 4-5 paddles a year to keep their surface grit fresh. The Reload system of replaceable grit enables a player to have the performance of a brand-new paddle whenever they want, while reducing their cost and environmental impact significantly. For an avid pickleball player this will reduce annual paddle expenses by 80% and environmental impact by 800%.
Founder and CEO Nick Bicanic is quick to restate their slogan, “This is not a paddle. This is a paddle system. Reload is a premium paddle and a replaceable raw carbon fiber surface. In under ten seconds you have the feel of a brand-new paddle for 1/6th of the price of a replacement.”
Unlike the 700 other ones that have to be thrown away and end up in a landfill, this is the first one of its kind that does not.

The Reload Paddle System is USAP approved, and they hold the patent for replaceable pickleball paddle surfaces. Before the product officially launched it created such a buzz that players and pros were asking to try it out before it hit the shelves. The players enjoyed it so much that Reload signed their first professional pickleball player Christine Maddox who is ranked number twenty in the world and plays on the PPA and APP tours.
Pickleball equipment was long overdue for an overhaul in design to reflect the growing interest not just in trying the sport but training to improve in it. The traditional model of selling paddles that degrade quickly at premium prices to customers was straining the players who wanted to improve their game and dedicate more time to playing.
Troy Hamner, founder and COO goes beyond the obvious comparison to tennis strings: “When your tires wear out, you don’t throw away the whole car, you replace the tires. Now we can do that with pickleball paddles”.
The Reload Paddle System creates eight hundred percent less waste than any other carbon fiber paddle. The sheets can be recycled to make other carbon fiber products and all packaging is FSC certified.
The Reload Paddle System and replaceable sheets are currently available for purchase on their website and will officially hit stores on Sunday, August 4th a live launch event at the famous Santa Monica Pickleball Center. The event will have live music product demos and open play from 6-9pm. Reload Founders and pickleball pro Christine Maddox will also be in attendance.
